The heart of the Vertex IsoTwist Advanced RO Water Purifier is the reverse osmosis membrane. RO filtration technology removes on average 95% of the dissolved solids in your water. Dissolved solids are not removed by municipal water treatment. This is why the IsoTwist RO System is an important safety factor for the water you drink and the water you use in your cooking. City water pressure is used in the reverse osmosis membrane to force the water molecules through the membrane, but the larger contaminant molecules are kept behind and flushed to the sewer. The clean water goes into the storage tank and is held there until ready for use. An auto valve turns off the water when the tank is full. The tank is pressurized with a bladder which pushes the water through the final filter.

Installation tips

Shut off the cold-water supply and release pressure by opening the RO faucet.
Twist the old IsoTwist membrane cartridge counterclockwise to remove it — no tools required.
Pull the membrane straight down from the quick-change head.
Insert the new 50 GPD membrane cartridge and twist clockwise until it locks securely in place.
Turn the water supply back on and flush the system for 3–5 minutes to clear air and activate the membrane.
Check all fittings for leaks before normal use.
Replace the membrane every 2–3 years for consistent purification and flow rate.
