Desiccant dehumidifiers operate by drawing ambient air into the dehumidifier where it passes over a Silica Gel impregnated wheel. As humid air passes over this wheel, the moisture is absorbed into the Silica Gel before leaving the dehumidifier as warmer, much drier air.

Since desiccant dehumidifiers do not produce water, they work effectively down to sub zero temperatures. Desiccant dehumidifiers perform exceptionally well when used in cooler climates, or when a low dew point, deep drying or low humidity levels are required.
