The FM-2000 is a powerful flush-mount air cleaner that's designed to drop into a suspended ceiling. It replaces either (1) 2' x 4' tile or (2) 2' x 2' tiles from the suspended ceiling. The clearance above the suspended ceiling needs to be at least 18-inches and it's recommended that the air cleaner is installed in areas that do not exceed a 12-foot ceiling height. The weight of the system does not rest on the ceiling grids but is secured above the suspended ceiling to a permanent structure such as a joist or beam. All filters in the FM2000 smoke eater commercial air cleaner are accessible from the door on the face of the system. One unit is recommended for approximately every 8,000 cubic feet.
3-Filter System Provides Excellent Clean Air Results
The FM-2000 uses a powerful blower to draw the air from smoke-filled areas. As the air is drawn through the high-efficiency filter media, tobacco smoke particles are filtered on each pass. This is particularly beneficial in lounges and restaurants because it reduces the need for segregated smoking areas. Dust, dirt, pollen and other contaminant particles are filtered as the air passes through the air cleaner.
Stage 1 - Pre-Filter
The pre-filter is important because not only does it remove the larger particles, it also helps prolong the life of the High Efficiency filter in the system. Essentially, the pre-filter is the first line of defense in maintaining your system; therefore promoting better indoor air quality.
Twelve polyester pre-filters are included with each system. Pre-filters cannot be washed and must be changed on average every month.
Stage 2 - Activated Carbon Filter
Activated Carbon removes odors by absorbing odors, gases & VOCs into the filter. Think of carbon as an odor sponge. It can hold many times its weight in odor molecules. However, once carbon becomes saturated it loses its efficiency. Thus, proper maintenance of the carbon filter is required to keep your environment fresh & clean smelling.
Six activated carbon filters are included with each unit. Carbon Filters cannot be washed and should be changed on average every 2 months.
Stage 3 - High Efficiency Filter
The High Efficiency filter removes the very small particles, such as smoke (tobacco, burning wood, oil, rosin), dust mites, spores, mold spores, pollen, spray paint, spray paint dust, ashes, cement dust, auto emissions, textile fibers, fiberglass, hairspray, insecticide dust, copier toner, and most viruses just to name a few. The High Efficiency filter is extremely important for superior air filtration and when used and maintained properly it will dramatically improve your indoor air quality. We cannot stress enough the importance of the High Efficiency filter to our system and the fact the High Efficiency filter must be maintained in order to achieve the maximum results.
One 12-inch High Efficiency filter is included with each unit. The High Efficiency filter cannot be washed and should be changed on average once per year.
OPTIONAL - Remote Control
Easily control the settings on your FM-2000 Smoke Eater with a handy Remote Control Key Fob. If your Smoke Eater is installed in an awkward area or is too high to reach, the remote control is an excellent choice. Each receiver is factory installed and comes with 2 battery-operated remote control key fobs. (Multiple air cleaners require a separate receiver/transmitter for each unit). The receiver/transmitter range is approximately 10 feet under normal operating conditions.
