Simply connect the bottleless water cooler to a 1/4" water source and plug it into the nearest outlet. You'll have a constant supply of clean, fresh-tasting, hot or cold water. This compact unit is great for break rooms, small offices, kitchens, and just about anywhere space is limited. It comes in white or executive gray to match any decor. With its completely sealed stainless steel cold water reservoir and hot tank, you can count on clean, bacteria-free water anytime.

The Vertex PWC-500 Countertop Water Cooler Filtration Options

No Filtration
This option may be desirable for homes, businesses, or offices that use Point of Entry filtration.

2-Stage Sediment & Carbon Filtration

  • Stage 1 - 5 Micron Sediment Filter - Removes suspended particles, rust, and pipe scale down to 5 microns (about 1/10 the size of a human hair.)

  • Stage 2 - 10 Micron Granular Activated Carbon Filter - GAC filter removes chlorine, bad tastes & odors plus other common, earthy, fishy, musty tastes and odors

2-Stage Sediment & Carbon Filtration PLUS 50 GPD (Gallon per Day) RO - Reverse Osmosis
Reverse Osmosis removes an average of 95% of dissolved minerals and other contaminants. RO membranes filter at the molecular level equivalent to 0.0001 microns. With the increasing pollution of our surface and groundwater with contaminants such as lead, mercury, and chromium-6, as well as the naturally occurring harmful contaminants such as arsenic, fluorides, and sulfides found in some areas of the country, it is more important than ever to have a way to remove these contaminants at the point of use.

IMPORTANT - Coolers equipped with Reverse Osmosis require an outlet drain. The hot and cold tanks in bottleless water coolers with RO filtration take approximately 1-1/2 - 2 hours to fill from empty.

What's in the box

  • 1 × Vertex PWC-500 Hot & Cold Countertop Water Cooler unit (fully assembled)
  • Connection hardware (water supply line fittings, ¼″ tubing)
  • Owner/Installation manual (instructions for setup, filter pack, maintenance)
  • (If chosen) Optional filter pack (sediment + carbon or sediment + carbon + RO membrane)

Installation tips

  • Locate near cold water supply and power outlet; ensure countertop space clearance (approx. 4″ behind is recommended)
  • If using the optional RO filter pack, ensure a drain connection is available (reject water) as required.
  • Before first use: flush the system according to manual, sanitize reservoirs per schedule.
  • Set cold-thermostat to desired temp (adjustable 37-50 °F) and allow enough time for tanks to reach temperature.
  • For hot water: engage hot function and allow heating time; the safety lock on the hot faucet must be used when placed in public/facility environment.
  • Maintain space around unit for service access; do not place in area subject to flooding or heavy splash.
  • Replace filtration cartridges according to usage, water quality and manufacturer schedule – dirty filters reduce performance and may affect warranty.

Frequently asked questions

Is the PWC-500 compatible with my existing water line or do I need bottled water?
The PWC-500 is a bottle-less unit designed to connect to your facility’s cold water line. No bottled jugs required.

Do I need to install the optional filter pack?
No, the unit can operate without the optional filter pack if you provide filtered supply. However, to achieve sediment + carbon or RO purification through the unit, you’ll want the filter-pack option for best water taste and contaminant reduction.

How many people can this serve?
Under typical break-room usage, up to about 25–40 people according to product specs.

How often should I perform maintenance or filter replacement?
That depends on your water quality and usage. Generally, inspect sediment/carbon filters annually and replace sooner if flow drops or taste/odor changes. For RO membranes, follow manufacturer’s guidance [filter pack documentation].

Is installation a DIY job or does it require professional plumbing/electrical?
While the unit is shipped fully assembled, connection to water line & (if using RO) drain line should follow local codes. For commercial/facility settings, a licensed contractor is recommended to ensure compliance and preserve warranty.

What happens if the hot tank runs out of heated water?
The hot tank holds ~0.5 gallon. If usage exceeds heating rate (~1.3 gal/hr) and depletes it, allow time for reheating. For heavy hot-water needs, consider scheduling usage or limiting demand accordingly.

Does this unit have a lock for the hot water faucet (for safety)?
Yes, the hot water faucet features a safety lock to prevent accidental dispensing of hot water.

What warranty coverage is included? The unit has a 1-year limited warranty on parts and a 3-year warranty on the compressor. Confirm installation by authorized dealer to ensure full coverage.
