The pre-filter is the first of 3 filter stages in the MARK-10-V. It's function is to remove the larger particles so they don't clog the HEPA filter. This includes lint, hair, dust, etc. The easy-to-change pre-filter should be replaced, on average, at least once per month. This will ensure your smoke eater continues to function properly. Pre-filters CANNOT be washed.
