What is a Carbon Block Filter? If you cut open a carbon block filter, you’d notice that it appears to be just that – a block of carbon. It’s actually tightly compressed carbon powder. The denser (more compressed) the carbon powder, the longer time the water is in contact with the carbon, the higher contaminant or micron removal rate. Carbon block filtration is the most effective type of carbon filtration for waterborne contaminant removal.
