It is recommended that the Muscle Machine surface mount dust and smoke air cleaner be installed in areas that have 7-1/2 to 9-foot ceiling heights. The Muscle Machine dust & smoke eater air cleaner is equipped with 4 eye bolts installed 16-inch on center on top of each system for easy installation. The installation hardware also includes 4 'S' hooks, 4 eye lags, and industrial hanging wire. 1 Muscle Machine is recommended for every 2,000 cubic feet.
How does the Muscle Machine Surface Mount Dust and Smoke Air Cleaner work? 3 Filter System Provides Excellent Clean Air Results
The Muscle Machine surface mount dust & smoke air cleaner uses a powerful blower to draw the air from smoke-filled areas. As the air is drawn through the high-efficiency filter media, 95% of the tobacco smoke particles are removed on each pass. The clean air that is constantly discharged into the area is refreshing and remarkably free of tobacco smoke and other contaminants.
Stage 1 - Pre-Filter
The pre-filter is important because not only does it remove the larger particles, it also helps prolong the life of the High Efficiency filter in the system. Essentially, the pre-filter is the first line of defense in maintaining your system; therefore promoting better indoor air quality.
(12) Polyester pre-filters are supplied with each system. Pre-filters cannot be washed and must be changed monthly.
Stage 2 - Activated Carbon Filter
Activated Carbon removes odors by absorbing odors, gases & VOCs into the filter. Think of carbon as an 'odor sponge'. It can hold many times its weight in odor molecules. However, once carbon becomes saturated it loses its efficiency. Thus, proper maintenance of the carbon filter is required to keep your environment fresh & clean smelling.
(6) Activated Carbon Filter pads are supplied with each system. Carbon Filters cannot be washed and should be changed every 2 months.
Stage 3 - High Efficiency Filter
The High Efficiency filter removes the very small particles, such as smoke (tobacco, burning wood, oil, rosin), dust mites, spores, mold spores, pollen, spray paint, spray paint dust, ashes, cement dust, auto emissions, textile fibers, fiberglass, hairspray, insecticide dust, copier toner, and most viruses just to name a few. The High Efficiency filter is extremely important for superior air filtration and when used and maintained properly it will dramatically improve your indoor air quality. We cannot stress enough the importance of the High Efficiency filter to our system and the fact the High Efficiency filter must be maintained in order to achieve the maximum results.

How big a room does one MM‑800 handle?
About 2,000 cubic feet (~250 sq ft @ 8 ft). Add units for larger rooms or higher target ACH.
What CFM should I list on my permit/spec?
Two published specs exist: 275/375 CFM (manual) and 400/450 CFM (current listing). Confirm the build you’ll receive. We can document the delivered airflow during commissioning.
Is the final filter HEPA?
It’s listed as a “High Efficiency” filter on the current site; replaced annually. (The owner’s manual for the series references HEPA media generally.) Use the listed replacement for MM‑800.
Can I wall‑mount it?
Yes, ceiling or wall mounting is supported; hardware included.
Is it CARB‑certified?
No. The page notes it has not been tested for CARB and cannot ship to California.
