Its Air-to-Air heat exchange provides pre-cooling and drying allowing the unit to reduce the relative humidity by more than 20%. How The Ebac FreeStar High Capacity Dehumidifier Works
The FreeStar dehumidifier, with its two-stage cooling process and temperature-sensitive, defrost control, ensures optimum performance throughout the units' full operating temperature range. Moisture is removed from the air by an efficient refrigeration process. Humid air is drawn into the dehumidifier and passes through an "Air to Air" Heat Exchange. This process pre-cools or dries the air, before being passed over the Evaporator Coil, which further cools the air below its dew point. Moisture forms on the evaporator coil and is collected in the condensate tray. This cool, dry air then passes back through the Air to Air Heat Exchange, in the opposite direction, providing cooling for the incoming air.
Once the air passes over the Condenser Coil, the air is re-heated and warmer, 'Super Dry Air' leaves the dehumidifier. As the air continuously circulates through the dehumidifier, it gradually reduces the relative humidity within the area.
