175-400 CFM | Electronic Flush Mount Smoke Eater - The Smokemaster X-400 quietly captures both airborne particles and gaseous odors and contaminants. It's ideal for moderate cigarette smoke removal in homes, offices, meeting rooms, employee lounges or beauty salons.

The X-400 air cleaner features a high-efficiency electrostatic cell designed to capture both particulate and gaseous contaminants. The attractive grille fits flush with the ceiling and is completely inconspicuous. The cabinet is hidden in the space above a single 2' x 2' drop ceiling tile.

In the Box & Installation

• Included: X‑400 unit (grille + cabinet), electronic cell, washable pre‑filter, (2) carbon post‑filters, mounting hardware (support bars, screws, washers, wire connectors). 
• Mounting: Drop into a 2′×2′ tile opening; use supplied brackets; maintain ~14″ clearance above. Hardwire per local code. 
• Operation: 3‑speed toggle on the grille (optional remote wall switch available). 
• Maintenance: Wash pre‑filter & electronic cell routinely; replace carbon pads every 4–6 months (use‑dependent).

How does the Smokemaster X-400 Electronic Air Cleaner work?...

Stage 1 - Metal Mesh Pre-Filter
The X400 pre-filter captures large particles such as hair, lint & pollen before they can enter the electronic cell. The pre-filter is washable but should be replaced after repeated use.

Stage 2 - Electronic Cells
A process called “Electrostatic Precipitation” traps over 97% of airborne contaminants on each pass through the X400. The ionizing section of the electronic cell electrically charges individual pollution particles. The electrostatic charge forces them to adhere to the oppositely charged collector plates. The electronic cells must be washed periodically to maintain efficient performance.

OPTIONAL - Carbon Post Filters
Carbon enhances odor removal and helps to remove odors, VOCs and gases providing a cleaner, odor-free air discharge. The X-400 includes 2 carbon filters. Carbon cannot be washed - filters should be replaced every 4-6 months.

How large a room will one X‑400 handle?
Up to ~400 sq ft in typical office/lounge setups. For heavier smoke or higher ceilings, use higher speed or additional units to meet ACH. 

How loud is it?

What filters are included?
